A scientific and practical seminar entitled “The Role of Independence in the Development of the Tajik Language” was held at the Faculty of Philology and Journalism on the initiative of the Department of Tajik Language and Communication Culture, marking the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. The seminar was attended by lecturers and students of the aforementioned faculty, who also delivered presentations.
At the opening of the seminar, Professor Gulrukhsor Abdulloyeva, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Head of the Department of Tajik Language and Communication Culture, delivered a presentation on the achievements of the independence period, the development of science and education, and the advancement of the Tajik language. She emphasised that safeguarding national values, particularly preserving and honouring one’s mother tongue, is the responsibility of every native speaker.
Subsequently, Rahim Zulfoniyon, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Senior Lecturer at the same department, delivered a presentation entitled “Language Teaching and Learning and the Advancement of the Language During the Period of Independence.” Dilrabo Sattorova, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Associate Professor of the department, also presented a paper entitled “The Tajik Language in the Period of Independence.”
Other lecturers also delivered insightful presentations, highlighting the grandeur and ancient history of the Tajik language, its revival, and its promotion on the international stage.
Members of the Sukhanшинос (Connoisseurs of Language) literary club, affiliated with the department, recited poems and delivered eloquent speeches celebrating the mother tongue and its enduring significance.
