Student Admission Rules for the 2026–2027 Academic Year

1. General Provisions

The rules for admitting students to the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda” have been developed on the basis of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education,” the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Higher Professional Education and Postgraduate Professional Education,” the “Model Regulations for Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan,” the “Procedure and Rules for Entrance Examinations to Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan,” and the Charter of the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda.”

2. General Procedure for Student Admission

2.1. At the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda,” specialist training for citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan is carried out on both state-funded and contractual (tuition-paying) bases.

2.2. Citizens of foreign states, as well as foreign nationals and stateless persons residing in the Republic of Tajikistan, are admitted to the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda” only on a contractual basis, in accordance with interstate agreements and arrangements, provided that they possess a recognized equivalent education document, pass the competition, and pay the tuition fee.

2.3. Admission of citizens of Tajikistan and foreign states to the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda” for obtaining a second higher education is carried out only on a contractual (paid) basis.

2.4. Citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan who have graduated from general secondary education institutions and secondary vocational education institutions, after passing the centralized entrance examination and the competitive selection process, submit the required documents to the university admission committee on the basis of a referral from the National Testing Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

2.5. Admission of applicants who have passed the competition under the quota of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is carried out within the established time limits by the university admission committee.

2.6. Education at the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda” is full-time. According to the “Concept of Medical and Pharmaceutical Reform in the Republic of Tajikistan,” approved by Resolution No. 512 of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated October 31, 2008, the duration of study at the medical faculties of pediatrics and public health is 6 years, while at the dentistry and pharmacy faculties it is 5 years.

3. Procedure for Accepting Documents from Applicants Referred by the National Testing Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan

3.1. Applicants who have passed the centralized entrance examination and successfully completed the competitive selection by obtaining the required scores shall submit the following documents to the university admission committee in accordance with the referral of the National Testing Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan:

  • an application addressed to the rector;
  • the original state-issued document on complete general, primary vocational, or secondary vocational education;
  • a medical certificate;
  • 6 photographs sized 3×4 cm;
  • a passport or another identity document with a photo issued by an authorized state body;
  • a military ID or conscription certificate (for male applicants);
  • documents confirming eligibility for benefits (if admitted under preferential terms), including: a disability certificate (for persons with disabilities of groups I and II), death certificates of father and mother (for full orphans under 21 years of age), a document confirming lack of guardianship, a recommendation from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, and documents confirming victory in national or international Olympiads in chemistry or biology.

3.2. Applicants who are included, based on the centralized entrance examination results, in the list submitted by the National Testing Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and who have chosen contractual education must pay one year of tuition to the university cashier before submitting their documents.

3.3. If an applicant fails to submit documents to the university admission committee within the deadline established by the National Testing Center under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, their documents will not be accepted, and the applicant will be reported to the National Testing Center as absent.

4. Procedure for Accepting Documents from Applicants Studying under the Presidential Quota of the Republic of Tajikistan

Female and male applicants recommended under the quota of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, in addition to the documents listed above, must also submit the following:

  • an application addressed to the rector;
  • the original state-issued document on complete general, primary vocational, or secondary vocational education;
  • a medical certificate;
  • 6 photographs sized 3×4 cm;
  • a passport or another identity document with a photo issued by an authorized state body;
  • a military ID or conscription certificate (for male applicants);
  • a decision of the school pedagogical council;
  • a recommendation from the district or city education department;
  • a referral from the district or city executive authority;
  • an agreement on joint cooperation among the local state authority, the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda,” and the citizen.

The final deadline for submitting documents by applicants under the quota of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan is August 10.

Admission of children of participants involved in eliminating the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster is carried out in accordance with the Admission Rules to secondary and higher professional educational institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan for children of citizens affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster (decision of the Board of the Ministry of Education dated February 1, 2010, No. 2/18).

5. Procedure for Admitting Students for a Second Higher Professional Education

5.1. In accordance with Article 41 of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and Article 20 of the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On Education,” citizens who already have higher professional education are allowed to obtain a second and subsequent higher professional education only on a contractual (paid) basis.

5.2. Admission to the State Educational Institution “Tajik International University of foreign language named after Sotim Ulughzoda” for obtaining a second higher professional education is carried out only on a contractual basis and in accordance with the procedure for conducting educational activities. An attestation commission is established to conduct interviews with such applicants. Applicants who have submitted documents for a second higher professional education are enrolled as students only after passing the interview and paying the tuition fee.
