At the initiative of the Faculty of European Languages the International University of Foreign Languages of Tajikistan named after Sotim Ulughzoda, a meaningful meeting was held with the participation of the university’s rector, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, and senior prosecutor of the Unified Information Center for the Prevention of Extremism, Terrorism, and Cybercrime under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sharifzoda Abdufayoz Mahmadamin. The meeting was attended by faculty members and students and was devoted to the topic “Terrorism and Extremism – Their Threats to Society.”
During the event, Rector, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, delivered a speech in which she highlighted the continuous initiatives and care of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon. She noted that over the 35 years of independence, Tajikistan has achieved remarkable progress and significant accomplishments.
The rector emphasized that preserving national values, culture, and ancestral heritage, loving the homeland, and appreciating peace and stability are the responsibilities of every conscious citizen of the country. She also stressed that young people should be committed to learning and research and should not remain indifferent to their future.
Continuing the meeting, senior prosecutor Sharifzoda Abdufayoz Mahmadamin spoke about Tajikistan’s development and growing reputation on the international stage, as well as the constructive and lasting initiatives of the state and government led by the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon.
He also noted that protecting the homeland, its borders, and national identity is the duty of every honorable citizen. Young people must not fall under the influence of various groups and movements; instead, they should firmly reject and condemn extremism and terrorism to avoid becoming victims of such ideologies.
Additionally, faculty members from the Department of History and Intercultural Relations contributed to the discussion. Associate Professor and Candidate of Historical Sciences Hoshimjon Aslonov spoke on the topic “Religious Extremism as a Threat to National Statehood,” Senior Lecturer Khubonshozoda Afruz Khubonsho addressed “Combating Extremism and the Experience of Major World Powers in This Area,” and during the discussion session, Associate Professor Ghaybulo Ikromov encouraged young people to love their nation and state, remain politically aware and vigilant, and actively learn foreign languages.
At the conclusion of the event, as a symbol of respect and fruitful cooperation, the university administration presented Sharifzoda Abdufayoz Mahmadamin with a Russian translation of the book “The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation” by the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon.
