On April 24–25, 2026, the city of Khujand hosted the Tajikistan Youth Sambo Championship, where young athletes from across the country competed against one another. Students of the International University of Foreign Languages of Tajikistan named after Sotim Ulughzoda also took an active part in the competition.
It is a matter of great pride that Bobojon Qodirov, a second-year student of the Faculty of European Languages, demonstrated outstanding athletic skill in the 58 kg weight category. He defeated all five of his opponents and заслуженно secured first place.
This significant achievement has opened the door for the young athlete to participate in prestigious international competitions. He now has the opportunity to compete in the Asian Championship, which will be held on June 20, 2026, in the Philippines, as well as in the World Championship, scheduled for October 2 of this year in Greece, where he will proudly represent Tajikistan on the international stage.
The university administration, along with the faculty and students, warmly congratulates Bobojon Qodirov on this sporting success and wishes him continued achievements in upcoming international competitions.
