Andrey Patrushev, Head of the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Dushanbe, and Ilyas Afaunov, the Centre’s Coordinator for Education and Science, paid a visit to the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, where they held a productive meeting with the Rector of the University, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the current state and prospects of training highly qualified specialists, including teachers and Russian-language translators. Particular attention was given to enhancing teachers’ professional competencies, improving the quality of education, and developing joint educational and research programmes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Dushanbe. The agreement is aimed at further strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, science, professional development, and academic and cultural exchange.
As a traditional gesture of respect and a symbol of strengthening intercultural relations, the University presented the visiting delegation with the first and second volumes of The Language of the Nation – The Existence of the Nation by the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, translated into Russian.
In addition, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Dushanbe donated more than 500 educational books to the University, contributing to the enhancement of its academic resources and educational activities.
