On September 2, 2026, dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of Sotim Ulugzoda, a scientific-practical seminar entitled “Sotim Ulugzoda – writer, playwright, translator, scientist and journalist” was held at the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda with the participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Sayyora Azimova, teachers and students of this faculty.
At the beginning, the head of the Department of Theory and History of Literature, Professor Salimi Khatloni, spoke from his memoirs, recalling his conversations with the teacher Sotim Ulugzoda.
At the same time, he spoke about the historical works, translations and dramas left by the teacher Ulugzoda, and invited young people to study and research the works of Sotim Ulugzoda.
In the continuation, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of Literature Olimi Khosiyat gave informative reports on the topic “Depiction of Women’s Will in Soviet Prose (on the Example of the Story “Friends of the Brave” by Sotim Ulugzoda)” and Professor of the same department Nurmuhammad Shamsov gave informative reports on the topic “Life and Works of Sotim Ulugzoda”.
In the continuation of the seminar, the second-year doctoral student of the Department of Theory and History of Literature Shahzod Kayumov gave a speech on the topic “Sotim Ulugzoda’s Loyalty and Respect for His Nation (In the Context of the Work “Eternal Faces” by the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon)”.
At the end of the seminar, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Sayyora Azimova spoke about the greatness of Sotim Ulugzoda, his biography and literary legacy.
The scientific-practical seminar noted that Sotim Ulugzoda is a prominent figure in Tajik literature, and his meritorious services are a source of pride for the Tajik nation. It is the works created by Sotim Ulugzoda that reflect the national history and civilization and the knowledge of the future children of the nation.
