The International Summer School “Tajik Language, Literature and Culture in Dushanbe” has officially commenced at the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda. The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, Doctor of Philological Sciences, who warmly welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of studying the Tajik language and promoting the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Tajik people at the international level.
The Summer School has brought together eleven participants from four countries: seven from the Republic of Korea, two from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, one from the Russian Federation, and one from the Italian Republic. They have come to Dushanbe to study the Tajik language, literature, culture, and the Persian-Tajik (Arabic-based) script.
As part of the first day’s programme, participants visited the National Library of Tajikistan and Rudaki Park, where they were introduced to the history, literary traditions, and cultural heritage of the Tajik nation.
The programme of the International Summer School includes theoretical and practical classes, cultural and educational events, meetings with distinguished scholars and writers, as well as excursions to the historical and cultural landmarks of Dushanbe, Panjakent, Khujand, and the historic Childukhtaron Complex.
The International Summer School provides its participants with a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Tajik language, gain a broader understanding of the country’s literature, history, and culture, while also promoting academic and cultural cooperation, strengthening friendship among nations, and expanding international humanitarian collaboration.
