STRENGTHENING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: NEW AGREEMENT SIGNED WITH XINJIANG NORMAL UNIVERSITY

On April 11, 2026, the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda hosted a distinguished delegation from Xinjiang Normal University of the People’s Republic of China.

The delegation included Mr. Jiang Haijun, Chairman of the University Council, Ms. Tang Jing, Director of the Development Planning Office, Mr. Wang Yonghui, Director of Science and Technology, Mr. Han Jiong, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, and Mr. Liu Weiqian, Executive Director of the Global Teacher Development Academy and the Central Asia Institute of Xinjiang Normal University.

Representatives of the Confucius Institute at Tajik National University – Mr. Sun Jing and Ms. Mahina Imomzoda – also participated in the meeting.

The guests were warmly received by the Rector of the University, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, along with the university leadership.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues related to academic and educational cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on the educational initiatives of the leadership of Tajikistan and China, as well as on the development of education, modern approaches to foreign language teaching, exchange of experience, academic mobility of faculty and students, and the application of artificial intelligence in language education.

As a result of the meeting, a new five-year cooperation agreement was signed between the two institutions.

According to the agreement, up to 50 Chinese language teachers will be annually sent to the People’s Republic of China to participate in professional development programs, short-term training courses, and pedagogical internships.

This cooperation represents an important step toward strengthening human resource capacity and advancing the internationalization of higher education.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests were presented with the Chinese translation of the book “The Nation Language – The Nation Existence” by the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
