Today, May 20, 2026, a group of faculty members and students of the International University of Foreign Languages of Tajikistan named after Sotim Ulughzoda visited the Luchob Memorial Complex to pay tribute to the nation’s history, culture, and outstanding personalities.
During the visit, they honored the resting places of the Heroes of Tajikistan — Nusratullo Makhsum and Shirinsho Shotemur — as well as the prominent cultural figure Nisor Muhammad, People’s Writer of Tajikistan Sotim Ulughzoda, and People’s Poets of Tajikistan Loiq Sherali and Mumin Qanoat.
Throughout the visit, faculty members provided students with information about the historic contributions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon — particularly his efforts to restore historical justice by returning to the homeland the soil remains of the Heroes of Tajikistan Nusratullo Makhsum, Shirinsho Shotemur, and Nisor Muhammad. It was emphasized that this initiative holds a special place in the modern history of the country as a symbol of respect for the nation’s devoted sons.
It was also noted that this year marks the 115th anniversary of People’s Writer of Tajikistan Sotim Ulughzoda and the 85th anniversary of People’s Poet of Tajikistan Loiq Sherali. These distinguished figures of Tajik literature and culture were recognized for their significant contribution to the development of literature, cultural life, and national identity through their rich creative legacy.
At the conclusion of the visit, students and faculty members also paid tribute to the graves of a number of other poets, writers, scholars, and cultural figures of Tajikistan, honoring their lasting memory with respect and gratitude.
