Today, April 23, 2026, the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Tajikistan, Stefan Wolfrum, Embassy Attaché Afzalshoh Jabborov, and Embassy staff member Annika Ortmann visited the University and held a meeting with the Rector of the institution, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda.
This visit took place within the framework of the closing events of the “German Language Week” at the International University of Foreign Languages of Tajikistan named after Sotim Ulughzoda. Its purpose was to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of science and education, culture, and the development of communication skills in the German language.
The guests were welcomed by the Rector, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, and the University’s teaching staff. During the meeting, detailed information was presented about the faculties, current academic programs, and the University’s achievements in the field of German language education.
The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between the University and higher education institutions in the Federal Republic of Germany, particularly with the Goethe-Institut in Tashkent, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and further development of German language studies at the University.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Rector presented commemorative gifts to the guests as a sign of respect.
Following the meeting, the guests participated in and delivered speeches at a cultural event dedicated to the closing of the “German Language Week.”
