READING CLUB BETWEEN TEACHERS

A reading club meeting at the Faculty of English Pedagogy of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda organized by the Department of English Philology, the event brought together faculty members to discuss recently read books through interactive and creative sessions.

In this session were attended the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Bakhtiyor Abdurrahimzoda, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Abdurauf Navrasov, as well as local and foreign faculty members.

The primary goal of the teachers’ reading club is to enhance intellectual growth, promote research, and improve professional speech and skills. This club operates on a regular basis within the Department of English Philology. Teachers read selected literary works over a short period and then analyze them through discussions and quizzes.

In his speech, Vice-Rector Bakhtiyor Abdurrahimzoda praised the initiative. He emphasized that foreign language acquisition is a top priority for the State and Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. He further noted that educators must adopt innovative methods to teach the younger generation, highlighting that the continuous development of a teacher’s own knowledge and expertise is crucial in this process.
