On 16–17 June 2026, the Forum of Rectors of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) University and the SCO Young Scientists Forum were held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus, bringing together representatives of higher education institutions from the SCO member states.
The delegation of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, led by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, actively participated in these prestigious events.
On 16 June, the University delegation attended the opening ceremony of the forums and listened to the speeches delivered by the Ministers of Education and Science of the SCO member states, including the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. On the sidelines of the event, new cooperation agreements were signed between the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda and the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, as well as the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University. These agreements provide a solid foundation for expanding bilateral international cooperation.
On 17 June, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, Rector of the University, delivered a presentation at the SCO University Rectors’ Forum entitled “SCO University as a Space for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Integration: The Experience of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda and New Cooperation Initiatives.” In the presentation, he highlighted the University’s achievements and introduced new initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture.
At the same time, within the framework of the SCO Young Scientists Forum, Karimjon Gadoev, Head of the International Relations Department, Shahlo Rajabalizoda, Head of the Analysis and Information Division, and Karomatullo Abdulloev, Lecturer at the Department of Philosophy and Political Science, presented their scientific reports, addressing current issues in their fields and sharing the results of their research.
The active participation of the University delegation in these international forums reflects the continuous expansion of its international relations, the strengthening of scientific cooperation, and the growing prestige and recognition of the University within the global higher education community.
