An open tutorial session entitled “Mehrgon: A Historic Festival of the Aryan Peoples” was held at the Faculty of European Languages of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda. The session was conducted under the guidance of Huvaido Mirov, curator of Academic Group 5102 ТВ and Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages.
The event was organised with the aim of fostering national self-awareness among students, cultivating respect for the historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people, promoting ancestral traditions and customs, and deepening students’ understanding of the historical origins and cultural significance of the Mehrgon festival.
During the session, students delivered presentations highlighting the historical origins of Mehrgon, its longstanding traditions, and its cultural and social significance. Their contributions underscored the importance of this ancient festival as an integral part of the historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people. The presentations were delivered in foreign languages, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their linguistic competence while promoting awareness of Tajikistan’s rich cultural traditions.
The session served as an important educational initiative aimed at strengthening students’ appreciation of national heritage and fostering respect for the historical and cultural values passed down through generations.
