BRITISH COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES VISIT THE UNIVERSITY

Michael Houlgate, Regional Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan and the Central Asia cluster, and Alisher Jabborov, Project Manager of AELLCA in Tajikistan, visited the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, where they held a productive meeting with the University Rector, Professor Zilolo Gulnazarzoda.

The visit took place within the framework of the Republic of Tajikistan’s state policy on the internationalisation of higher professional education and the strengthening of sustainable international partnerships, including the University’s participation in the international project Accelerating English Language Learning in Central Asia (AELLCA).

The meeting with the British Council representatives began with a presentation on the University’s activities. Discussions focused on the implementation of the AELLCA project, opportunities for cooperation with universities in the United Kingdom, and future plans for collaboration within the framework of the project.

Following the official meeting, the guests visited the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education, where they engaged in an open and friendly discussion with the faculty’s students and academic staff.

During their conversation with the lecturers, particular attention was given to the implementation of the AELLCA project, the involvement of academic staff in its activities, and its contribution to teachers’ professional development and the enhancement of their English language proficiency.

At the conclusion of the visit, as a gesture of mutual respect and a means of strengthening cultural ties, the guests were presented with English-language translations of The Language of the Nation Is the Existence of the Nation, a work by the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.
