On the afternoon of October 2, 2026, the award ceremony took place for the international competition titled “Knowing a Language Means Knowing the World”—held to award the “Sotim Ulughzoda International University of Foreign Languages of Tajikistan Rector’s Cup” for 2026. The event involved students from higher professional education institutions in Tajikistan and abroad and was attended by Saydullo Quvvatzoda, Head of the Education and Science Sector within the Department of Education, Culture, and Information of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan; Zhilo Gulnazarzoda, Rector of the University; Saidzoda Hikmatullo, Head of the Higher Professional and Postgraduate Education Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan; Mavjuda Davlatshoeva, a representative of the Committee on Language and Terminology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan; as well as faculty members and students.
It should be noted that a total of 139 students from 29 domestic and 4 foreign higher education institutions participated in this competition, testing their language proficiency across 12 languages: Tajik, Russian, English, Chinese, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Arabic, Hindi, and Uzbek.
Based on the results and the assessments of experienced judges and native speakers, winners were determined across 10 categories; ultimately, 9 students took first place, 8 took second place, 10 took third place, and 21 students received honorary awards.
At the same time, representatives of the higher education institutions were presented with letters of appreciation from the university, while the winners received the Sotim Ulughzoda Tajik International University of Foreign Languages Rector’s Cup, diplomas, and monetary prizes.
