On 2 September 2026, at the initiative of the administration of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, the university administration, faculty members, and a group of first-year students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism visited the tomb of Sotim Ulugzoda, People’s Writer of Tajikistan, located in the Luchob area.
Following the visit, professors of the Department of Theory and History of Literature — Salimi Khatloni, Khosiyat Olimi, and Sharafmurod Isrofilniyo — delivered presentations on the exemplary life and multifaceted literary and public activities of Sotim Ulugzoda, an outstanding son of the Tajik nation.
In recognition of the writer’s outstanding contributions to Tajik literature and culture, in 2009, by a Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajik State Institute of Languages (currently the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages) was named after Sotim Ulugzoda.
It should be noted that this year, the 115th anniversary of the birth of the renowned writer is being commemorated throughout the country.
The main purpose of visiting the burial places of prominent national figures is to foster a sense of patriotism, national identity, and respect for the cultural and literary heritage of the nation among the younger generation.
