As part of the celebrations dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and in accordance with the activity plan of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda, the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature held a scientific and literary seminar titled “The Literary Heritage of Robiya Balkhi” in honor of the 1050th anniversary of Robiya Balkhi. The event was attended by faculty members and students.

At the seminar, speeches were delivered by the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Bakhtiyor Abdurrahimzoda; the Head of the Department of Education, Muhammadsayid Gafurov; the Head of the Analytical and Information Department, Shahlo Rajabalizoda; and the Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature, Shahlo Hasanzoda.

It was emphasized that Robiya Balkhi is one of the most remarkable and distinguished figures in the history of Tajik literature. Her name has remained eternal, associated with beauty, love, wisdom, and free thinking. Robiya is considered the first female poet writing in the Dari language, and she has been respectfully mentioned in literary tazkiras (biographical anthologies). She was born in Balkh and was a contemporary of the renowned master Abuabdulloh Rudaki. Robiya was famous for her beauty, intellect, and mastery of poetry in Persian, Dari, and Arabic. Preserving her literary heritage is regarded as our duty today.

During the seminar, teachers presented insightful reports, and students recited poems from the works of Robiya Balkhi.
