On 7 October 2026, the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda hosted a grand ceremonial and cultural event in commemoration of Teachers’ Day. The event was attended by the Rector of the University, Professor Zilolo Gulnazoda, members of the teaching faculty, and administrative staff.
In her address, Rector Professor Zilolo Gulnazoda extended her heartfelt congratulations and warmest wishes to the University community on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. She highlighted the steadfast attention accorded to the advancement of education by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and underscored the far-reaching measures undertaken to strengthen the national education system and expand its modern infrastructure throughout the years of State Independence. Particular emphasis was placed on the establishment of new, contemporary educational institutions and the continuous improvement of conditions for teaching and learning.
The Rector further underscored that the sustained support and profound respect extended to the teaching profession entail a corresponding responsibility on the part of educators to contribute meaningfully to the intellectual, moral, and civic development of the younger generation. She called upon teachers to instil in students a deep-rooted sense of patriotism, national identity, civic consciousness, and respect for national values, while encouraging them to assume an active role in safeguarding and advancing the interests of the nation.
The official proceedings were followed by a rich and engaging cultural programme prepared and presented by talented members of the University’s teaching and administrative community. The programme showcased the artistic abilities and creative potential of the University staff and contributed to the solemn and festive character of the occasion.
As part of the concluding ceremony, a number of distinguished veteran educators, whose many years of dedicated professional service have made a substantial contribution to the education and upbringing of successive generations, were honoured with commemorative gifts in recognition of their longstanding commitment and invaluable contribution to the development of education.
The University’s young educators who made a notable contribution to the commemorative events marking the 35th anniversary of State Independence were likewise recognised and presented with certificates of appreciation in acknowledgement of their active participation, dedication, and contribution to the successful organisation of the celebrations.
