Welcome to the national leader’s next steps toward strengthening world peace.

On 26 June 2026, the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda hosted a scientific and theoretical conference entitled “The International Peace Diplomacy of the Leader of the Nation for Future Generations.” The event was dedicated to the 29th Anniversary of the National Unity Day of the Republic of Tajikistan and to the adoption by the United Nations of the Resolution proclaiming the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027–2036.”

The conference was attended by the Rector of the University, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda; Nosirjon Salimi, Member of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Republic of Tajikistan and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan; and Rajabali Tursunzoda, Head of the Executive Office of the Youth Union of Tajikistan. The distinguished guests addressed the participants and emphasized the significance of the occasion.

In his opening remarks, Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda congratulated the audience on this historic event and stated that the international recognition of the initiative proposed by the Founder of Peace and National Unity—Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, entitled the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027–2036,” is a source of pride for every patriotic citizen of Tajikistan.

He further emphasized that national unity constitutes the foundation of peace and stability, guarantees the sustainable development of the state, and serves as one of the most important factors for the progress of society. He noted that the achievement of national unity was made possible through the farsighted leadership and dedicated efforts of the Leader of the Nation, and that preserving this invaluable achievement remains the responsibility of every citizen.

During his speech, Academician Nosirjon Salimi highlighted the importance of cultivating a spirit of national unity in the hearts and minds of every conscientious and patriotic citizen. He stressed that unity should be strengthened and safeguarded as one of the greatest national values and one of the most significant achievements of the country’s independence.

Rajabali Tursunzoda also addressed the participants, emphasizing the adoption by the United Nations of the Leader of the Nation’s initiative on the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027–2036.” He underlined the historical significance of National Unity Day and highly praised the decisive role of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in establishing and preserving peace, stability, and national cohesion.

The conference continued with presentations by Guldasta Qanoatova, Associate Professor of the Department of History and Intercultural Relations, and Muhabbatsho Qobilov, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science. In their presentations, they discussed the universal value of peace and emphasized that, in today’s rapidly changing global environment, peace must be protected as the most precious treasure. They noted that only under conditions of lasting peace and stability can people live in security and nations achieve sustainable development.

The participants concluded that the initiative of the Leader of the Nation entitled the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations, 2027–2036” is both timely and highly relevant in addressing the challenges of the contemporary world. The conference reaffirmed the importance of promoting a global culture of peace and strengthening international cooperation for the benefit of future generations.
