On 15 September 2026, within the framework of a series of meetings and discussions with students, Professor Zhylo Gulnazrzoda, Rector of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, held a meeting with first-year students of the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education in an open, constructive, and cordial atmosphere.
At the outset of the meeting, the Rector referred to the nationwide celebrations commemorating the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan. In this context, she underscored that the attainment of State Independence has created favourable conditions and extensive opportunities for the younger generation to receive a high-quality education, develop their intellectual and professional potential, and pursue their aspirations.
The Rector further emphasised that, owing to the prudent and far-sighted policy pursued by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, peace, stability, and social cohesion prevail throughout the country. The prevailing atmosphere of peace and stability provides young people with the necessary conditions and opportunities to pursue their educational and professional aspirations and to contribute meaningfully to the development and prosperity of the nation.
During the meeting, the students were given an opportunity to express their views and reflections. They conveyed their sincere gratitude to the Leader of the Nation for the favourable conditions and opportunities provided for young people to pursue higher education. The students also shared their perspectives on the teaching and learning of foreign languages at the University, as well as on the organisation and implementation of theoretical and practical classes.
In concluding the meeting, Professor Zhylo Gulnazrzoda urged the students to make full and effective use of the educational and developmental opportunities available to them. She encouraged them to strengthen their foreign-language proficiency, acquire knowledge and practical skills in innovative technologies and various professional fields, and take an active part in national and international competitions.
The Rector further emphasised that proficiency in foreign languages, combined with strong academic knowledge and professional competence, would enable the students to represent the Republic of Tajikistan with distinction at the international level and to make a meaningful contribution to the country’s continued development, prosperity, and international engagement.
