On 25 June 2026, the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda served as the venue for the official inauguration of the French Language Learning Centre at the Faculty of European Languages. The ceremony was attended by Professor Gulnazarzoda Zhilo, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Rector of the University, and Her Excellency Ms. Elsa Pignol, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan.
In his opening address, the Rector warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized that the establishment of the Centre represents a significant milestone in further strengthening the academic, educational, and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the French Republic. He noted that the inauguration, held on the eve of National Unity Day, serves as a symbol of friendship, mutual understanding, and the continued development of international partnerships.
Addressing the participants, Her Excellency Ambassador Elsa Pignol expressed her sincere appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended by the University leadership. She commended the University’s substantial contribution to the preparation of highly qualified specialists with foreign language proficiency and acknowledged its important role in promoting educational cooperation between the two friendly nations. Furthermore, the Ambassador reaffirmed the commitment of the French side to expanding collaboration in the field of French language education and supporting the implementation of joint academic and educational programmes.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a commemorative gift by the University leadership to Her Excellency Ambassador Elsa Pignol as a symbol of friendship, mutual respect, and the enduring partnership between the two countries.
