UNIVERSITY HOSTS “CHAKOMAI GESU” AND “ARTISTIC FEMALE STUDENT OF THE YEAR” COMPETITIONS

As part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of State Independence, the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda hosted the university competitions “Chakomai Gesu” and “Artistic Female Student of the Year.” The event brought together faculty members and students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

Among the distinguished guests were the Rector of the University, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor Zhilo Gulnazarzoda; Khursheda Gulahmadzoda, Head of the Department for Women and Family Affairs of the Executive Authority of Sino District of Dushanbe; Honored Artist of Tajikistan Lola Azizova; along with university professors, staff members, and students.

The competitions aimed to promote respect for national traditions and folk craftsmanship while fostering practical life skills and personal development among female students.

In her welcoming address, Rector Zhilo Gulnazarzoda highlighted the importance of such initiatives, noting that organizing cultural competitions of this kind helps preserve national values, promote cultural heritage, popularize traditional attire and cuisine, and prepare young women for independent and responsible living.

Exhibition displays prepared by lecturers and students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism featured student achievements, presentations of traditional cuisine and handicrafts, collections of literary works, and demonstrations of national customs and rituals.

The event continued with poetry recitations, baytbarak (poetic duels), as well as engaging musical and dance performances presented by students and faculty members, creating a vibrant cultural atmosphere throughout the celebration.
