Visit of a Representative of the University of Cambridge to the University

Dr. Mahbod Ghaffori, a representative of University of Cambridge, paid a visit to the International University of Foreign Languages of Tajikistan named after Sotim Ulughzoda, where he held a meeting with the Rector, Professor Gulnazarzoda Zhilo.

The guest was warmly received by the Rector and the university’s leadership in a highly organized and cordial atmosphere. This meeting is regarded as an important step toward strengthening academic diplomacy and expanding international cooperation.

During the discussion, the parties addressed the current state and future prospects of Persian language studies at the international level, ways to enhance the professional qualifications of teachers, improve the quality of Persian language instruction, and develop the skills and competencies of both faculty and students specializing in Persian. They also explored opportunities for launching joint academic and research programs between the university and the University of Cambridge.

One of the key topics discussed was the organization of Summer and Winter Schools at the university. Both sides viewed this initiative as an effective platform for exchanging knowledge, culture, and international experience, and considered the possibility of involving Cambridge students in such programs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, as a gesture of respect and to strengthen cultural ties, the university presented representatives of the University of Cambridge with the first and second volumes of The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation, authored by Emomali Rahmon and translated into English.
