Today, April 20, a scientific and practical conference was held at the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda, marking the beginning of Science Week. The event, titled “Interdisciplinary Influence and Integration of the Humanities, Social, and Exact Sciences as a Factor of Sustainable Development in Modern Society,” was dedicated to Tajik Science Day and the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The conference was attended by the University Rector, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Jilo Gulnazarzoda; Head of the Department of Education and Science of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Saydullo Zuvayd Quvvatzoda; as well as faculty members, doctoral candidates, master’s students, researchers, and students.
Opening the event, Rector Jilo Gulnazarzoda spoke about the education-focused and language development policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. She emphasized that such important academic gatherings continually introduce new talents into the fields of science and culture, enriching the nation’s modern intellectual landscape through innovative ideas and valuable research. She also noted that the foundation of science and knowledge largely depends on experienced educators, highlighting the boundless value of knowledge and the high status of scholars.
Following this, Saydullo Zuvayd Quvvatzoda delivered remarks on the significant role of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in the steady advancement of national science, the achievements of the independence era, the importance of learning foreign languages, and encouraging students to engage in modern scientific studies. He also called on the younger generation to pursue education, research, and the protection of national interests.
The conference then featured insightful presentations by Saodatsho Matrobiyon, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Theory and Practice of Linguistics, and a member of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, on “The Role of the State Language in the Integration of Sciences in the Context of Sustainable Development”; Bahmanyor Sulaymonzoda, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Political Science, on “The Role of National Self-Awareness in Strengthening Statehood”; and Shodi Shajeyi, PhD and Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology, on “The Use of Information Technologies in Language Teaching.”
During the discussion session, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Davlatyor Hafizov, and Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Olimjon Qosimov, also delivered speeches.
At the conclusion of the event, the University administration presented certificates of appreciation to language specialists who contributed to translating the book by President Emomali Rahmon, “The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation,” into Arabic, Hindi, and French.
Additionally, winners of the Dushanbe Mayor’s competition and recipients of the Dushanbe Mayor’s scholarship were honored with certificates and commemorative gifts.
