The administration of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, in addition to fulfilling its primary mission of training highly qualified language teachers and professional translators, is also actively engaged in translating valuable literary works.

Since 2022, the University has undertaken the translation and publication of the significant book by the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, entitled “The Language of the Nation — The Essence of the Nation.” The translation of the first volume of the book into Russian, English, and Chinese was completed and presented in September 2022 during the visit of the Head of State to the University and the inauguration of the new academic building.

The translation of the second volume into Russian, English, and Chinese was completed in 2023 and presented on the eve of State Language Day.

Inspired by the translation and publication of the book in three languages, the University’s faculty, with a patriotic spirit and national pride, translated the first volume of “The Language of the Nation — The Essence of the Nation” into four additional languages: Korean, Indian, French, and Arabic, which was presented in 2025 on the eve of State Language Day in the presence of domestic and international guests.

To date, this significant work, regarded as a valuable contribution to the preservation and promotion of the Tajik language, has been translated and published in seven languages taught at the University.

It should be noted that the translations of “The Language of the Nation — The Essence of the Nation” by H.E. Emomali Rahmon are used as educational material in the University’s faculties for teaching students.

It should also be emphasized that the translation and publication of both volumes into five additional languages taught at the University — Spanish, Italian, Persian, Japanese, German, and Uzbek — are planned in the near future.

The translations of “The Language of the Nation — The Essence of the Nation” are also presented as valuable gifts to foreign guests, representatives of Tajik embassies, and during overseas trips of University staff. In this way, the rich, expressive, and pure Tajik language is introduced to the world.

In the preface to the book, the Leader of the Nation, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, notes:

“For me, the Tajik language is not only a means of communication, but also the passport of my people, the soul and purity of my ancestors, and a reflection of the heritage of our forefathers. Therefore, I sincerely value this poetic language, speak it with high patriotic feeling from elevated platforms, enjoy its sweet and pleasant sound, and connect my existence with the existence of the language.”

The Head of State, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, demonstrates in the book with historical evidence that the Tajik language has been, for millennia, one of the most important means of preserving cultural values, civilization, and national unity, and today it must be preserved and developed as a sacred symbol of Tajik statehood.
