ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING

Today, December 2, 2025, the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda hosted an international scientific-practical conference on the topic: “The Essence of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies in Foreign Language Learning: Challenges and Prospects”. The event was attended by the University Rector, Doctor of Philology, Professor Zhilo Gulnazorzoda, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Director of the Public Organization “Center for Information and Communication Technologies”, Talat Numonov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Translation at the Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages named after Ishoqjon Ibrat, Republic of Uzbekistan, Palina Botirova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of Namangan State University, Republic of Uzbekistan, Zebo Botirova, Master’s student of the Uyghur and Chinese Language Program at the Xinjiang Teachers University, People’s Republic of China, Wang Sha Sha; foreign language translation specialist Bakhtigul Aymati, as well as University faculty and students.

At the beginning of the conference, Rector Zhilo Gulnazorzoda highlighted the initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon in the development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, emphasizing the increasing efficiency of implementing new technologies in the country and the timeliness of holding an international scientific-practical conference on the important topic of foreign language learning through modern technologies.

Next, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Director of the Public Organization “Center for Information and Communication Technologies” Talat Numonov delivered a presentation on “Neurolinguistics and Large Language Models: How Artificial Intelligence Understands and Generates Language”, and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Translation at the Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages, Palina Botirova, spoke on “Integrating Intercultural Approaches through Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Professional English to Logistics Students”.

During the conference, the following reports were also presented: Professor Zebo Botirova of Namangan State University, Uzbekistan, on “Building a Global Educator: Exploring Intercultural Intelligence, Digital Citizenship, and Ethical Responsibility of Teachers in the 21st Century”; Master’s student Wang Sha Sha on “Artificial Intelligence and Its Role in the Modern World”; and foreign language translation specialist Bakhtigul Aymati on “The Necessity of Learning Foreign Languages and Information Technologies in the Modern Era”.

In the discussion part of the conference, Head of the Department of Eastern Language Teaching at the University, Associate Professor Nuriddin Sultonhaydarov, shared his reflections on the development of artificial intelligence and foreign language learning using modern programs and 21st-century technologies.

At the conclusion of the international conference, the University Rector awarded all speakers with certificates.
