In accordance with the action plan of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, and in cooperation with the Department for Youth Affairs and Sports of the city of Dushanbe, a ceremonial event dedicated to the International Volunteer Day was held at the University.
The event was attended by and featured speeches from the Rector of the University, Professor Jilo Gulnazarzoda, and the Head of the Department for Youth Affairs and Sports of Dushanbe, Rajabali Bobokhonzoda.
It was noted that, following the wise and forward-looking policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon, the conscious and devoted youth of the country faithfully and honorably serve the people and the state. The active participation of volunteers in republican and international events stands as clear evidence of this.
It should be emphasized that more than 250 active volunteers of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda (including both faculty members and students) took an active part in various republican and international events during the current year. They were awarded 50 certificates of the Judo Federation of Tajikistan; 4 certificates of the public organization “Youth — Followers of the Leader of the Nation”; 3 diplomas of the Department for Youth Affairs and Sports of Dushanbe and the State Television Channel “Sinamo”; 5 letters of appreciation from the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan; 20 letters of appreciation from the Department for Youth Affairs and Sports of Dushanbe; 15 letters of appreciation from the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan; 10 letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan; 48 letters of appreciation and certificates from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan; as well as 22 certificates and 15 letters of appreciation from the University.
Throughout the year, the University’s volunteers also played an active role in various international events as coordinators, facilitators, and interpreters, including during the tourist routes of the “Sairi Sada” festival, the International Festival “Navruz — Heritage of Culture and Tourism”, the International Tourism Festival “Dushanbe Navruz — 2025”, the Regional Forum of the Olympic Council of Asia and Olympic Solidarity for the National Olympic Committees of Central and West Asia, the First World Cup in Mountain Biking — 2025 in Dushanbe, the Dushanbe Grand Slam 2025 international judo tournament, the regional stage of the student sports Spartakiad, the youth program of the First Channel of Tajik Television, the High-Level International Conference dedicated to the International Year of Glacier Preservation, the Dushanbe International Investment Forum “Dushanbe Invest — 2025”, the International Olympiad in Mathematics and Informatics named after Khayyam “KhIMIO — 2025”, the first national e-sports championship for the Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the republican competition “Furūghi subhi donoi — kitob ast” (“The Dawn of Knowledge Rises from Books”).
It is noteworthy that this year Zamira Madaminova, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Translation, won second place in the republican contest “Volunteer of the Year.”
During the volunteer forum, 30 active volunteers were awarded letters of appreciation and commemorative gifts by the University administration and the Department for Youth Affairs and Sports of Dushanbe.
The event concluded with a cultural program presented by the University’s artistic group “Subhi Javoni” (“Morning of Youth”).
