The leadership of the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, along with its primary mission of training qualified philology teachers and professional translators, is also actively engaged in translating valuable literary and scientific works.
Since 2022, the university has been translating and publishing the fundamental work “The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation” by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon.
The translation of the first volume of the book into Russian, English, and Chinese was completed and presented in September 2022 during the Head of State’s visit to the university and the opening of a new academic building.
The translation of the second volume into Russian, English, and Chinese was completed in 2023 and presented on the eve of the Day of the State Language.
Inspired by this successful work, the university’s faculty members – guided by patriotic feelings and national pride – prepared a translation of the first volume of “The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation” into four additional languages: Korean, Hindi, French, and Arabic. Its presentation took place in 2025 on the eve of the Day of the State Language with the participation of domestic and international guests.
In total, to date, this significant work — recognized as an important contribution to the preservation and promotion of the Tajik language — has been translated and published in seven languages taught at the university.
It should be noted that the translations of “The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation” by the honorable President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, are used as educational material in the university’s faculties.
It is important to emphasize that in the near future, translations of both volumes of the book will be presented in five additional languages taught at the university: Spanish, Italian, Persian, Japanese, German, and Uzbek.
Translations of this valuable work, “The Language of the Nation is the Essence of the Nation”, are presented to foreign guests, representatives of Tajikistan’s diplomatic missions, and during international visits of university staff, serving as meaningful cultural gifts. Through this effort, the rich, expressive, and unique Tajik language is introduced to the global community.
In the preface to the book, the Leader of the Nation, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon, notes:
“For me, the Tajik language is not merely a means of communication but, above all, the passport of my people, the living soul of our ancestors, and the mirror of their spiritual heritage. Therefore, I sincerely revere this poetic and beautiful language, speak it from the high tribunes with deep patriotism, enjoy its melodiousness, and connect my very essence with the essence of the language.”
In the book, the Head of State, the esteemed Emomali Rahmon, emphasizes — based on historical facts — that for thousands of years, the Tajik language has been one of the most important factors in preserving cultural values, civilization, and national unity, and that today it must continue to be preserved and developed as a sacred symbol of Tajik statehood.
