The Department of Science and Innovation at the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda is one of the key structural units of the University. Its activities are aimed at organizing, coordinating, and developing the scientific research and innovation work of the faculty, postgraduate students, doctoral candidates, master’s students, and undergraduates.

This management oversees and coordinates scientific research activities, as well as controls the training process of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel, organizes and implements professional development and retraining programs for staff, develops scientific projects, implements innovation activities, and applies the latest scientific achievements.

At the same time, the Department of Science and Innovation is responsible for developing and implementing the university’s policy in the field of scientific development, organizing conferences, symposiums, scientific forums, supporting the publication of articles, monographs, and other scientific works, as well as cooperating with research centers, institutes, and higher education institutions both domestically and internationally.

The management coordinates the scientific activities of postgraduate education levels, including postgraduate (aspirantura), doctoral (PhD) programs, and master’s studies, in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and other authorized bodies. It exercises continuous control over the progress of scientific research and the preparation of dissertations.

The main goal of the Department of Science and Innovation at the Tajik International University of Foreign Languages named after Sotim Ulughzoda is to achieve new and significant scientific, scientific-technical, and innovative results. The activities of the management are aimed at solving pressing scientific problems that contribute to the sustainable development of the economy, social sphere, education, and culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.

One of the key tasks of the management is the coordination of scientific research activities with the educational process, which is implemented through the integration of fundamental, academic, and applied sciences into educational programs. This process contributes to improving the quality of education, training qualified specialists, and developing the university’s scientific potential.

The priority areas of scientific research at the University are defined as follows: 

– Current issues in linguistics, comparative study of languages; 

– Important problems of Tajik literature and literary studies; 

– Translation studies and the role of translation in the modern era; 

– Study of the pedagogical ideas of ancestors and pressing issues of national pedagogy; 

– Methods and innovative technologies for teaching language and literature; 

– The role of philosophy and social sciences in ensuring sustainable and stable development of modern society; 

– Research on issues of peace and national unity, protection of national interests, and information security; 

– Study of pressing problems related to preventing new global threats, superstitions, religious extremism, and terrorism; 

– Important issues in studying and teaching the history of the Tajik people in the context of globalization; 

– Main trends in the development of national education and culture in the modern era; 

– The role of natural, exact, and mathematical sciences in the development of science and education.

Scientific research activities at the University are carried out according to a plan approved by the University Academic Council.
