Master’s degree

The master’s degree is an independent level at the Tajik State Institute of Languages named after Sotim Ulugzoda, which was formed with the aim of providing highly qualified specialists and scientific and pedagogical personnel for various sectors of the national economy and the education and science systems of the Republic of Tajikistan. The Master’s program has brought higher professional education closer to international educational standards and created the necessary conditions for diplomas to meet world standards.

The duration of full-time master’s studies is 2 years.

Persons with higher education can study at the institute’s master’s program in the specialty corresponding to the diploma.

Students who have received a recommendation to continue their studies by decision of the state certification commission and have received a bachelor’s or specialist’s diploma in their chosen field are accepted into the master’s program. Applicants write an essay on their chosen specialty and undergo an interview.

Persons whose diplomas do not correspond to the chosen field, in accordance with the requirements determined by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan for master’s degree studies, pass a mandatory exam.

If an applicant enters a master’s program in the year of graduation, the results of interdisciplinary final exams in the specialty are accepted as entrance exams (subject to a positive assessment). If the interdisciplinary exams are passed with a “satisfactory” grade, the applicant takes the entrance exams.

If admission to a master’s program is carried out one year after graduation, regardless of the existing diploma with honors, the applicant takes entrance exams.

Up to 20% of graduates of the institute and other higher professional educational institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan are accepted into the institute’s master’s program. If the number of people wishing to enroll exceeds 20%, then admission to the institute’s master’s program is carried out through competition on a contractual basis.

Currently, the institute’s master’s degree program covers the following areas:

1. Russian language and literature (teacher) 1-020302;

3. English (teacher) 1-210502-08;

4. German language (teacher) 1-230103;
